Discover Falmouth

There's This and a Lot More.

There are lots of great places to visit in the Falmouth area with a variety of attractions and activities to appeal to the whole family. We have cherry picked a few favourites of The Falmouth to help you plan your holiday. In Falmouth town itself, aside from the plentiful shops, galleries and harbour activity not to be missed are:

Pendennis Castle
Pendennis Castle has defended the anchorage of the Carrick Roads for over 450 years. Today you can re-visit the castle's history from Tudor times to its re-fortification in both World Wars. The castle has a Discovery Centre complete with interactive displays and activities, including an exhibit on Tudor battles. There are many medieval re-enactments of battles staged at Pendennis. A Land Train runs from Falmouth to the castle car park in the summer.

The National Maritime Museum of Cornwall
Housed in an award-winning building on Falmouth's harbourside, the NMMC transports you into the world of small boats and Cornish maritime history. The Collection consists of a range of objects, boats, art, books and archives that promote an understanding of small boats and their place in people's lives.

Great Days out on the River
Why waste a day wrestling with the traffic, arguing over directions and looking for parking just to visit one attraction when you could spend the day serenely traveling between each of the many activities and attractions that the river Fal has to offer. By working closely with our carefully selected partners, Fal River Links brings together a whole range of experiences, attractions, walks and destinations all connected by a unique and completely integrated transport network.
